The Porsche 919 Hybrid is considered the most successful model in endurance series racing over the last decade. Since its release in 2014, they have consistently been able to leave the competition behind, including winning the legendary LeMans 24h race in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

At the 2017 LeMans 24h race, the Porsche LMP Team took to the grid with the Porsche 919 Hybrid. Drivers Neel Jani, Nick Tandy and André Lotterer started under start number 1. However, the trio could not finish the race and had to park their car after 318 completed laps due to an engine defect.
