The French Grand Prix took place on 24 July 2022 at the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet and covered a distance of 53 laps of 5.842 km each, which corresponds to a total distance of 309.626 km.
In his 300th Formula 1 race, Lewis Hamilton of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team started the race from 4th position in his Mercedes-AMG F1 W13 E Performance racing car. In the 12th race of the season, Hamilton showed a strong performance and was able to improve to 2nd place in the end.
